Joseph WHIELDON ( 1779 ~ 1843)

Margaret REDFERN ( 1781 ~ 1867 )

Joseph WHIELDON, the son of John and Sarah, was baptised in April 1779 at St Leonard's Church, Ipstones.  He had 2 older sisters and one older brother; all baptised at St Leonard's; Sarah born in 1774, John born in 1776, and Ellen born in 1777.

Margaret REDFERN, the daughter of Matthew and Margaret, was baptised at Grindon, Staffs. on 5th August 1781.

Joseph married Margaret REDFERN on 14th March 1800 at Ipstones and the couple had 11 children.

 John was born on 14th April 1801 and baptised on 3rd May 1801 at St Leonard's Church, Ipstones.

Sarah was born on 1st May and baptised 15th May 1803,.

Jane Ann was born 1832 and died 1835,

Arthur born in Jul 1842 and died 12th January 1844,

Joseph was baptised 30th June 1805 at Ipstones and died 13th May 1808.

Thomas was baptised on 3rd April 1808, Joseph was baptised on 29th July 1810,

William was baptised on 7th February 1813 ,

George was born in 1815,

Ann was born in 1817,

Isaac was baptised on 14th May 1820,

Jacob was born in 1822 and Margaret was baptised on 11th December 1825.

 

Joseph's father, John, died in 1814 and Joseph accompanied his mother Sarah to obtain probate.

In 1841 the family were living at Foxt.

Joseph died on 13th December 1843 and is buried in St Leonard's Churchyard, Ipstones.

The 1851 census shows that Margaret was living  at Foxt; she died on 27th February 1867 and is buried with Joseph in Ipstones Parish Church.
